Call For Provincial Team Coaches & Managers, Outdoor 2010
FHA will have teams for the following age groups and genders:
Men's U14, U16, U18 and Senior
Women's U14, U16, U18 and Senior
Practices will take place in both Calgary and Edmonton for both senior programs and U18 programs. Interested coaches and managers please send an email to info@fieldhockey.ab.ca along with your coaching resume by March 15th, 2010.
Canada Cup 2010 - U18 Tournament to be held in Calgary
FHA will host the 2010 Canada Cup, the premier U18 tournament in Canada held annually, traditionally by FHBC. This year FHA will take on the task of hosting this event at Hawkings Field in Calgary. Teams from across Canada will take part in this exciting and competitive event. More details will be posted shortly. The tournament will run from July 14th to the 18th, 2010.
2010 Outdoor National Championships Announced
Alberta provincial teams will take part in the 2010 Senior National Championships in Victoria, June 30th to July 4th, 2010. Our boys and girls U16 teams will participate in the U16 National championships in Mississauga, Ontario, July 20th to 25th, 2010. Details about the 2010 provincial outdoor seasons will be posted shortly.
Boys and Girls Youth Pan American Cup Teams - FHBC
FHBC's U16 teams from the 2009 U16 National Championships are set to compete for the chance to represent Canada at the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympic Games in August. The boys are set to compete starting on February 6th and ending on the 14th. The qualifying tournament will take place in Hermosillo, Mexico. The girls tournament will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, March 13th to 21st, 2010. For more details and information about the Team Canada please visit the 2010 Youth Pan Am homepage. Men's and Women's Indoor National Team Searching for Coaches/Staff
FHC is searching for qualified coaches and team managers for the Indoor National team programs for both the men and the women. For more details please review the application from FHC: Men's Program and Women's Program. The Men's indoor program will begin in February 2010 and will end in Septrember 2010. These positions are volunteer. Both the Women's and the Men's Pan American Indoor Cup will be held in Venezuela, August 9th to 15th, 2010.
Men's and Women's Canadian National Team Updates - January 2010
Field Hockey Canada has created a channel on YouTube, the channel name is fieldhockeycanada and they have many videos from current national team athletes who do short interviews from Canada and overseas during tournaments. It is a great way to be connected to the athletes even though the distance can be very far! For more details on the happenings within the national team programs and tournaments please visit the National Team Corner for both the men and women's teams. Edmonton Junior Program - Try it Free Day, January 23rd, 2010
There is another Try-it Free day on Janary 23rd, 2010. If you want to try something new but aren't quite sure you want to spend the money on something your child won't necessarily enjoy or might absolutely love, come on out and just try!! Our coaches and volunteers all have experience coaching youth and beginners in field hockey. Equipment will be available, we want all children involved to have fun and enjoy activity together!! University of Alberta Pandas Finish 2nd at CIS Championships
The fifth ranked Pandas upset the higher ranked University of Guelph to setup the a west final on the final day. The Pandas played in the gold medal game for the second straight year. Congratulations to the Pandas on a successful season in 2009. For more details about the program and the championships please visit the CIS homepage or the Canada West Conference homepage.

Upcoming Events FHA is renewing a familiar tournament in 2010. We will be hosting the 1st Annual Alberta Cup, this year we will host a club championships for the first time in many years. FHA will also be hosting the 2010 Canada Cup, the premier U18 tournament in Canada.
