Call for Coaches - Provincial Outdoor 2011
For a complete schedule and program update please visit the Calendar page. This year we will be requiring a few more details for applicants to coach each program.
Who should/can apply?
Any coach interersted in advancing their coaching skills in the sport of field hockey. We are willing to train and work with coaches of all ages and expertise. Whether you have 1 or 10 years of coaching experience we want you to come out!! If you are a little nervous about the committment level required, please contact us.
How to apply?
- All provincial teams: application deadline is April 25th, 2011
- For Women's U18 provincial team: application deadline is April 20th, 2011
- All applicants must submit the following:
- Provide a police clearance or have a valid one on file in the FHA office
- Coaching resume - experience and qualifications
- Season plan for the team you are interested in coaching (please contact Henre Meyer if you are unsure as to what is required)
- Be NCCP certified or be "in training/trained" or be interested in attaining such certifications

Committment needed
- Please refer to the FHA Provincial Team Training Schedule for specific details on training camp weekends and tournaments for each program
- Coaches are required to attend all CAMP weekends and tournaments, but are not required to attend the technical sessions listed on the schedule (these are optional)

Community Based - Coaching Opportunities (Beginner)
Calgary Junior Program (Spring, Fall & Indoor) - Community level coaching, boys and girls, programs for beginners to high performance, age 4 through 18.

Edmonton Junior Program (Spring, PYG, Indoor) - Community level coaching, boys and girls, programs for beginners, age 4 through 14.

Calgary Senior High School Field Hockey - The Calgary high school league runs every spring all over Calgary. Each year the schools struggle to find enough coaches for all the teams. For more details please visit the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association website.
Introduction to Competition - Coaching Opportunities (Intermediate)
FHA Provincial Team Program (Indoor & Outdoor) - provinvial teams for both male and female, age ranging between 10 and 18.
FHA High Performance Program (Fall & Winter) - Provincial team athletes participating throughout the fall and winter in a skill based program coached by our HP coaches.
Level 3, 4 & 5 - Coaching Opportunities (Advanced)
Varsity Field Hockey (U of C Dinos & U of A Pandas) - Currently the highest level for coaching in Alberta. These are the elite programs operating within Alberta. For more details please visit the Hockey Programs page for details on coaches and the programs.
