Technical Training Sessions

New for the 2011 Outdoor Provincial Program
FHA will be changing the format of the outdoor program for 2011. We will be introducing camp style weekends instead of team training each weekend of the summer. This provides flexibility for athletes to participate in other sports and events and for our coaches to have more flexibility. For those athletes who do wish to participate week in and week out we are offering a separate program, these are the technical training sessions. Athletes are required to attend all camp weekends (travel is required). Athletes however are not required to travel for technical training session weekends. The purpose of this type of training is to model after the national teams in Canada and to have full engagement from athletes for the entire weekend (technical, tactical, video, fitness, prevention & recovery, etc), instead of stretched out over the entire summer.

Details

  • Idea is to provide specific training from our top level coaches
  • Athletes will be assigned to specific training groups based on chronological age and training age (skill level)
  • Athletes of the same age with varying skill level will have the opportunity to train with athletes of the same skill level
  • This is not a MANDATORY program for provincial members, we highly recommend that you attend as many sessions as you can

Cost: $100 for 10 to 12 total hours of training

Payment options: online, cheque or cash

Calgary Technical Training Sessions
All Calgary and area residents for each of the various age groups are welcome to attend these sessions. Again, athletes will be assigned based on athlete experience level. The junior and senior technical sessions will be for the U14, U16, U18 & Senior age group.

Edmonton Technical Training Sessions
All Edmonton and area residents for each of the various age groups are welcome to attend these sessions. Again, athletes will be assigned based on athlete experience level. The junior and senior technical sessions will be for the U14, U16, U18 & Senior age group.

Upcoming Events
FHA is renewing a familiar tournament in 2010. We will be hosting the 1st Annual Alberta Cup, this year we will host a club championships for the first time in many years. FHA will also be hosting the 2010 Canada Cup, the premier U18 tournament in Canada.
